Plant Sale
Are you interested in adding beauty, color and/or shade to your place? Do you want to attract wildlife to your front yard? How about raising your property value? Have you run out of landscaping ideas? Looking for reforestation opportunities? Maybe we can help! Every spring the Okanogan Conservation District holds an annual plant sale.
Every fall, a plant sale brochure is sent out to everyone on our current mailing list. Included in the brochure is an order form to be filled out and our plant listing; with 20 different conservation grade native plant species. The listed plants include Ponderosa Pine, Quaking Aspen, Red Osier Dogwood, Rocky Mountain Maple, Mock Orange, and Woods Rose, just to name a few. Each plant is accompanied by two colored pictures (distance and close-up shots) and a short description. These brochures are also available online, at our booth during the Okanogan County Fair, and at the OCD office.
There are two ways available to order plants for the plant sale: by mail or by dropping by our office at 1251 S. 2nd Ave. Okanogan, WA 98840 Monday-Friday, 8:00AM – 4:00PM. Orders must include a 50% deposit and are taken until January 7th, 2011. If you stop by, be sure to get on our mailing list for next year’s brochure mailing.
Your order will be available for pickup during the Okanogan County Spring Fair on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM and on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Okanogan County Fair Grounds in the Horticulture building.
If you happen to miss getting your order in by the January date, there should be a surplus of plants at the sale and you are more than welcome to stop by and see what we have. However, we may not have what you want or the quantity that you want, so order early.
